(M1083) 6 ft Mahogany Wind-Up Snooker/Pool Diner

An Antique 6ft mahogany Wind-Up Snooker/Pool Convertible Dining Table by Thurston, circa 1900.  This 6 ft Mahogany Snooker Dining table, has four mahogany decorative turned legs, decorative cushion button and a ⅝" thick one piece slate and is stamped with it original manufacturers number 10212  When in the dining position with the 3 mahogany dining tops in place the table can seat 6 - 8 people for dinner.  This Thurston convertible billiard dining table is raised and lowered by a simple wind-up mechanism, by simply inserting the handle in the end of the table, a few turns of the handle later and the table is ready for playing snooker or pool.

This snooker diner is suitable for playing the game of snooker and also the game of pool.  If playing snooker, 10 2" red balls are used, rather than 15 reds normally used on a full-size snooker table.  This enables you to play a game of snooker without the table becoming too crowded with snooker balls, making it easier to play  If playing pool, the normal 15 pool balls are used, again in 2" size.  This size table gives approximately the same size playing area as a 7ft UK Pool Table often found in pubs.
