Ronnie O’Sullivan beat defending champion Judd Trump 10-6 to win his fourth Cazoo Champion of Champions title.

World number one performed brilliantly all evening, from start to end. O’Sullivan took the lead 6-1 with breaks of 96, 103, 52 and 88 until Trump fought back.

In the eighth frame, Trump made the seventh maximum 147 of his career followed by a break of 96 to make the score 6-3.

O’Sullivan kept his lead with a break of 106 to begin the evening session. Trump quickly tried to come up on top, winning the next three frames, reaching 7-6.

However, with breaks of 124, 85 and 81, O’Sullivan sealed his victory and claimed the Cazoo Champion of Champions title. O’Sullivan also won this title in 2013, 2014 and 2018. With this win, O’Sullivan took home the 150,000 top prize and his 77th professional title.

O’Sullivan shared with the World Snooker Tour how he wasn’t focused on how was leading during the event.

“Even at 6-1 up, I didn’t once think about the lead. I know what Judd is like and I knew he could do what he did and pull back to 7-6. I was just pleased with how I dug in at the end there. We both like to play well every frame, but that is just not possible. This game is too hard for that.”

Trump was disappointed to lose and frustrated about his gameplay.

“I am disappointed with how I played. I thought Ronnie scored very heavily all day. That puts you under pressure, every time you get a chance you have to clear up in one visit. I obviously didn’t do that enough. His scoring was too heavy and well done to him.” He commented on World Snooker Tour.

If you are wondering when Ronnie O’Sullivan is playing next, you can watch him play at the German Masters against Oliver Brown on the 23rd of November and later, against Bai Langning at the Scottish Open on the 28th of November.
