2021 Championship League Stage One
The first stage of the 2021 BetVictor League, which lasts from 18th July – 13th August, saw eight players compete on Sunday.
Group 7, comprising of all English players, competed on July 18, with Ricky Walden scoring 9 points, Allan Taylor scoring 4 points, Nigel Bond scoring 2 points and Oliver Brown scoring 1 point.

Also playing on the 18th was group 8, consisting of Peter Lines (ENG) and Mark Williams (WAL), who both scored 6 points, Jak Jones (WAL), who scored 4 points and Hammad Miah (WAL), who scored 1 point.
The championship, which is taking part in Morningside Arena in Leicester, is a professional ranking snooker tournament in which 128 players from the World Snooker Tour compete. There are three stages, followed by a final, hosted on Friday 13th August, and the winner is awarded £20,000, as well as the title of 2021 BetVictor League Champion.

The first stage features 32 groups of four players, with two groups each playing simultaneously each day. The winner of each round will advance onto the next stage, winning a small monetary prize after each. Group positions will be determined by points scored, frame distance and head-to-head results between tied players. If a pair is still tied, places will be determined by the highest break made.
Ronnie O’Sullivan, who is widely recognised as one of the most accomplished players in the history of the sport, will be competing in group 32 on the 20th of July. Holding 37 snooker titles, including six-time world champion, seven-time Masters champion and seven-time UK champion, he’s definitely one to beat.
The two-time BetVictor League defending champion, Kyren Wilson, is in group 16 and will play his first round on the 29th of July.
