Reanne Evans wins 4-2 against Mink Nutcharut to claim the Scottish Women’s Open crown for the first time at The Q Club, in Glasgow.

Thailand's Mink took the lead by stealing the opening frame. However, with breaks of 46 and 44, Evans rose to the top, leading 2-1.

Mink did not let Evans stay in the lead for long as she quickly levelled the score with a break of 47.

Evans regain the lead during the fifth frame and won the sixth frame to claim victory.

This triumph becomes the second-ranking crown of the season for Evans, the world number one. Her first success of the season was her victory at UK Women’s Championship in July where she won 4-3 against Ng On-yee.

It is unknown the amount of prize money earned by the winner. Earlier this month, O’Sullivan commented about women’s prize money on the World Snooker Tour.

“It's so wrong that World Snooker haven't made it better for the girls.

“Why can't they just take five per cent off the prize money and give the ladies a good opportunity to play in good conditions?

“I think everyone would support it and back it. The world-mixed doubles shouldn't be a special event for them, it should be normal.

“Reanne Evans is a 12-times world champion, that's some feat. At least let her make it a professional job where she doesn't have to go out and do other things to make ends meet.” Said Ronnie O’Sullivan.
