Historic Snooker Table possibly by Gillows. This table could be the oldest in existence today. The tables was purchased by Hamilton Billiards from a Country Estate in Cambridgeshire and is listed in the inventory of furniture of Sir John Cutts in 1670. The table was kept in the room named King Charles Room - King Charles 1 was a frequent visitor to the estate and stayed in this room.

The table is simple in design, manufactured in fine figured mahogany with ebony banding. This table originally had an oak wooden bed hence the fine six leg frame. This bed was replaced with slate around 1730 and the size is slightly under Full-Size - sizes of tables were not standardised until much later.
